anubhūtaviṣayāsaṃpramoṣaḥ smṛtiḥ //1.11//
anubhūtaviṣayāsaṃpramoṣaḥ smṛtiḥ/ pramāṇādibhir anubhūte viṣaye yo+asaṃpramoṣo 'steyaṃ sā smṛtiḥ/ saṃskāramātrajasya hi jñānasya saṃskārakāraṇānubhavāvabhāsito viṣaya ātmīyas tadadhikaviṣayaparigrahas tu saṃpramoṣaḥ steyam/ kasmāt sādṛśyāt/ "muṣa steye" dhātupāṭhaḥ 9 ity asmāt pramoṣapadavyutpatteḥ/ etad uktaṃ bhavati --- sarve pramāṇādayo+anadhigatam arthaṃ sāmānyataḥ prakārato vādhigamayanti/ smṛtiḥ punar na pūrvānubhavamaryādām atikrāmati/ tadviṣayā tadūnaviṣayā vā na tu tadadhikaviṣayā/ so+ayaṃ vṛttyantarād viśeṣaḥ smṛter iti/ vimṛśati --- kiṃ pratyayasyeti/ grāhyapravaṇatvād anubhavasya svānubhavābhāvāt tajjaḥ saṃskāro grāhyam eva smārayatīti pratibhāti/ anubhavamātrajanitatvāc cānubhavam eveti/ vimṛśyopapattita ubhayasmaraṇam avadhārayati --- grāhyapravaṇatayā grāhyoparaktaḥ/ paramārthatas tu grāhyagrahaṇe evobhayaṃ tayor ākāraṃ svarūpaṃ nirbhāsayati prakāśayati/ svavyañjakaṃ kāraṇam añjanam ākāro yasya sa tathoktaḥ/ svakāraṇākāra ity arthaḥ/ vyañjakam udbodhakaṃ tenāñjanaṃ phalābhimukhīkaraṇaṃ yasyeti vety arthaḥ/ nanu yadi kāraṇavicāreṇa buddhismaraṇayoḥ sārūpyaṃ kas tarhi bheda ity ata āha --- tatra grahaṇeti/ grahaṇam upādānaṃ, na ca gṛhītasyopāttasyopādānaṃ saṃbhavati/ tad anenānadhigatabodhanaṃ buddhir ity uktam/ grahaṇākāro grahaṇarūpaṃ pūrvaṃ pradhānaṃ yasyāḥ sā tathoktā/ vikalpitaś cāyam abhede+api guṇapradhānabhāva iti/ grāhyākāraḥ pūrvaḥ prathamo yasyāḥ sā tathoktā/ idam eva ca grāhyākārasya grāhyasya pūrvatvaṃ yad vṛttyantaraviṣayīkṛtatvam arthasya/ tad anena vṛttyantaraviṣayīkṛtagocarā smṛtir ity uktaṃ bhavati/ so+ayam asaṃpramoṣa iti/ nanv asti smṛter api saṃpramoṣaḥ/ darśayati hi pitrāder atītasya deśakālāntarānubhūtasyānanubhūtacaradeśakālāntarasaṃbandhaḥ svapna ity ata āha --- sā ca dvayīti/ bhāvitaḥ kalpitaḥ smartavyo yayā sā tathoktā/ abhāvito+akalpitaḥ
