yogāṅgānuṣṭhānād aśuddhikṣaye jñānadīptir ā vivekakhyāteḥ //2.28//

tad evaṃ caturo vyūhān uktvā tanmadhyapatitasya hānopāyasya vivekakhyāter godohanādivat prāgasiddher asiddhasya copāyatvābhāvāt siddhyupāyān vaktum ārabhata ity āha --- siddheti/ tatrābhidhāsyamānānāṃ sādhanānāṃ yena prakāreṇa vivekakhyātyupāyatvaṃ tad darśayati sūtreṇa --- yogāṅgānuṣṭhāṇād aśuddhikṣaye jñānadīptir ā vivekakhyāteḥ/ yogāṅgāni hi yathāyogaṃ 98 dṛṣṭādṛṣṭadvāreṇāśuddhiṃ kṣiṇvanti/ pañcaparvaṇo viparyayasyety upalakṣaṇaṃ puṇyāpuṇyayor api jātyāyurbhogahetutvenāśuddhirūpatvād iti/ śeṣaṃ sugamam/ nānāvidhasya kāraṇabhāvasya darśanād yogāṅgānuṣṭhānasya kīdṛśaṃ kāraṇatvam ity ata āha --- yogāṅgānuṣṭhānam iti/ aśuddhyā viyojayati buddhisattvam ity aśuddher viyogakāraṇam/ dṛṣṭāntam āha --- yathā paraśur iti/ paraśuś chedyaṃ vṛkṣaṃ mūlena viyojayati/ aśuddhyā viyojayad buddhisattvaṃ vivekakhyātiṃ prāpayati yathā dharmaḥ sukham/ tathā yogāṅgānuṣṭhānaṃ vivekakhyāteḥ prāptikāraṇaṃ nānyena prakāreṇety āha --- vivekakhyātes tv iti/ nānyatheti pratiṣedhaśravaṇāt pṛcchati --- kati caitānīti/ uttaram --- navaiveti/ tāni darśayati kārikayā --- tadyathā --- utpattīti/ atrodāharaṇāny āha --- tatrotpattikāraṇam iti/ mano hi vijñānam avyapadeśyāvasthāto+apanīya vartamānāvasthām āpādayad utpattikāraṇaṃ vijñānasya/ sthitikāraṇaṃ manasaḥ puruṣārthatā/ asmitāyā utpannaṃ manas tāvad avatiṣṭhate na yāvad dvividhaṃ puruṣārtham abhinirvartayati/ atha nirvartitapuruṣārthadvayaṃ sthiter apaiti/ tasmāt svakāraṇād utpannasya manaso+anāgatapuruṣārthatā sthitikāraṇam/ dṛṣṭāntam āha --- śarīrasyeveti/ pratyakṣajñānanimittam 99 indriyadvārā vā svato vā viṣayasya saṃskriyābhivyaktis tasyāḥ kāraṇaṃ yathā rūpasyālokaḥ/ vikārakāraṇaṃ manaso viṣayāntaram/ yathā hi mṛkaṇḍoḥ samāhitamanaso vallakīvipañcyamānapañcamasvaraśravaṇasamanantaram unmīlitākṣasya svarūpalāvaṇyayauvanasaṃpannām apsarasaṃ pramlocām īkṣamāṇasya samādhim apahāya tasyāṃ saktaṃ mano babhūveti/ atraiva nidarśanam āha --- yathāgniḥ pākyasya taṇḍulādeḥ kaṭhināvayavasaṃniveśasya praśithilāvayavasaṃyogalakṣaṇasya vikārasya kāraṇam/ sata eva viṣayasya pratyayakāraṇaṃ dhūmajñānam agnijñānasyeti/ jñāyata iti jñānam agniś cāsau jñānaṃ cety agnijñānaṃ tasya/ etad uktaṃ bhavati --- vartamānasyaivāgner jñeyasya pratyayakāraṇatayā kāraṇam iti/ autsargikī nirapekṣāṇāṃ kāraṇānāṃ kāryakriyā prāptis tasyāḥ kutaścid apavādo 'prāptiḥ/ yathā nimnopasarpaṇasvabhāvānām apāṃ pratibandhaḥ setunā tathehāpi buddhisattvasya sukhaprakāśaśīlasya svābhāvikī sukhavivekakhyātijanakatā prāptiḥ/ sā kutaścid adharmāt tamaso vā pratibandhān na bhavati/ dharmād yogāṅgānuṣṭhānād vā tadapanaye tadapratibaddhavṛttisvabhāvata eva tajjanakatayā tad āpnoti/ yathā vakṣyati --- "nimittam aprayojakaṃ prakṛtīnāṃ varaṇabhedas tu tataḥ kṣetrikavat" yogasūtram 4.3 iti/ tad evaṃ vivekakhyātilakṣaṇakāryāpekṣayā prāptikāraṇam uktam/ avāntarakāryāpekṣayā tu tad eva viyogakāraṇam ity āha --- viyogakāraṇam iti/ anyatvakāraṇam āha --- anyatvakāraṇaṃ yathā suvarṇakāraḥ suvarṇasya, kaṭakakuṇḍalakeyūrādibhyo bhinnābhinnasya bhedavivakṣayā kaṭakādibhinnasyābhedavivakṣayā kaṭakādyabhinnasya suvarṇasya kuṇḍalād anyatvam/ tathā ca kaṭakakārī suvarṇakāraḥ kuṇḍalād abhinnāt suvarṇād anyat kurvann anyatvakāraṇam/ agnir api pākyasyānyatvakāraṇaṃ yady api tathāpi dharmiṇo dharmayoḥ pulākatvataṇḍulatvayor bhedāvivakṣayā dharmayor upajanāpāye+api dharmyanuvartata iti na tasyānyatvaṃ śakyaṃ vaktum iti vikāramātrakāraṇatvam uktam iti na saṃkaraḥ/ na ca saṃsthānabhedo dharmiṇo 'nyatvakāraṇam iti vyākhyeyam/ suvarṇakāra ity asyāsaṃgateḥ/ bāhyam anyatvakāraṇam upanyasyādhyātmikam udāharati --- evam ekasyeti/ avidyā kamanīyeyaṃ kanyaketyādijñānam/ tanmohayogāt sa eva strīpratyayo 100 mūḍho viṣaṇṇo bhavati caitrasya maitrasya puṇyavato bata kalatraratnam etan na tu mama bhāgyahīnasyeti/ evaṃ sapatnījanasya tasyāṃ dveṣaḥ strīpratyayasya duḥkhatve/ evaṃ maitrasya tasyā bhartū rāgas tasyaiva strīpratyayasya sukhatve/ tattvajñānaṃ tvaṅmāṃsamedo'sthimajjāsamūhaḥ strīkāyaḥ sthānabījādibhir aśucir iti vivekināṃ mādhyasthye vairāgye kāraṇam iti/ dhṛtikāraṇaṃ śarīram indriyāṇāṃ vidhārakam indriyāṇi ca śarīrasya sāmānyā karaṇavṛttir hi prāṇādyā vāyavaḥ pañca tadabhāve śarīrapātāt/ evaṃ māṃsādikāyāṅgānām api parasparavidhāryavidhārakatvam/ evaṃ mahābhūtāni pṛthivyādīni manuṣyavaruṇasūryagandhavahaśaśilokanivāsināṃ śarīrāṇāṃ, tāni ca parasparaṃ, pṛthivyāṃ hi gandharasarūpasparśaśabdaguṇāyāṃ pañca mahābhūtāni parasparaṃ vidhāryavidhārakabhāvenāvasthitāny apsu catvāri tejasi trīṇi dve ca mātariśvanīti/ tairyagyaunamānuṣadaivatādīni ca vidhāryavidhārakabhāvenāvasthitāni/ nanv ādhārādheyabhāvarahitānāṃ kutas tattvam ity ata āha --- parasparārthatvād iti/ manuṣyaśarīraṃ hi paśupakṣimṛgasarīsṛpasthāvaraśarīropayogena dhriyate/ evaṃ vyāghrādiśarīram api manuṣyapaśumṛgādiśarīropayogena/ evaṃ paśumṛgādiśarīram api sthāvarādyupayogena/ evaṃ daivaśarīram api manuṣyopahṛtacchāgamṛgakapiñjalamāṃsājyapuroḍāśasahakāraśākhāprastarādibhir ijyamānaṃ tadupayogena/ evaṃ devatāpi varadānavṛṣṭyādibhir manuṣyādīni dhārayatīty asti parasparārthatvam ity arthaḥ/ śeṣaṃ sugamam //2.28//
