viśeṣāviśeṣaliṅgamātrāliṅgāni guṇaparvāṇi //2.19//

dṛśyānāṃ guṇānāṃ svarūpabhedāvadhāraṇārtham idam ārabhyate --- viśeṣāviśeṣaliṅgamātrāliṅgāni guṇaparvāṇi/ yeṣām aviśeṣāṇāṃ śāntaghoramūḍhalakṣaṇaviśeṣarahitānāṃ ye viśeṣā vikārā eva na tu tattvāntaraprakṛtayas teṣāṃ tān āha --- tatrākāśeti/ utpādakramānurūpa evopanyāsakramaḥ/ asmitālakṣaṇasyāviśeṣasya sattvapradhānasya buddhīndriyāṇi viśeṣāḥ/ rājasasya karmendiyāṇi/ manas tūbhayātmakam ubhayapradhānasyeti mantavyam/ atra ca pañcatanmātrāṇi buddhikāraṇakāny aviśeṣatvād asmitāvad iti/ vikārahetutvaṃ cāviśeṣatvaṃ tanmātreṣu cāsmitāyāṃ cāviśiṣṭam/ saṃkalayya viśeṣān parigaṇayati --- guṇānām eṣa iti/ aviśeṣān api gaṇayati --- ṣaḍ iti/ saṃkalayyodāharati --- tadyatheti/ viśiṣṭaṃ hy aparaṃ pareṇeti gandha ātmanā pañcalakṣaṇo rasa ātmanā caturlakṣaṇo rūpam ātmanā trilakṣaṇaṃ 84 sparśa ātmanā dvilakṣaṇaḥ śabdaḥ śabdalakṣaṇa eveti/ kasya punar amī ṣaḍaviśeṣāḥ kāryam ity ata āha --- ete sattāmātrasyātmana iti/ puruṣārthakriyākṣamaṃ sat tasya bhāvaḥ sattā tanmātraṃ tan mahattattvam/ yāvatī kācit puruṣārthakriyā śabdādibhogalakṣaṇā sattvapuruṣānyatākhyātilakṣaṇā vāsti sā sarvā mahati buddhau samāpyata ity arthaḥ/ ātmana iti svarūpopadarśanena tucchatvaṃ niṣedhati/ prakṛter ayam ādyaḥ pariṇāmo vāstavo na tu tadvivarta iti yāvat/ yat tatparaṃ viprakṛṣṭakālam aviśeṣebhyas tadapekṣayā saṃnikṛṣṭakālebhyo liṅgamātraṃ mahattattvaṃ tasminn ete ṣaḍaviśeṣāḥ sattāmātre mahaty ātmany avasthāya satkāryavādasiddher vivṛddhikāṣṭhām anubhavanti prāpnuvanti/ ye punar aviśeṣāṇāṃ viśeṣapariṇāmās teṣāṃ ca dharmalakṣaṇāvasthāḥ pariṇāmā iti/ seyam eṣāṃ vivṛddhikāṣṭhā pariṇāmakāṣṭheti/ tad evam utpattikramam abhidhāya pralayakramam āha --- pratisaṃsṛjyamānāḥ pralīyamānāḥ svātmani līnaviśeṣā aviśeṣās tasminn eva sattāmātre mahaty ātmany avasthāya vilīya sahaiva mahatā te 'viśeṣā avyaktam anyatra layaṃ na gacchatīty aliṅgaṃ pratiyanti/ tasyaiva viśeṣaṇaṃ niḥsattāsattaṃ sattā puruṣārthakriyākṣamatvam, asattā tucchatā niṣkrāntaṃ sattāyā asattāyāś ca yat tat tathoktam/ etad uktaṃ bhavati --- sattvarajastamasāṃ sāmyāvasthā na kvacit puruṣārtha upayujyata iti na satī nāpi gaganakamalinīva tucchasvabhāvā tena nāsaty apīti/ syād etat/ avyaktāvasthāyām apy asti mahadādi tadātmanā, na hi sato vināśo vināśe vā na punarutpādo na hy asata utpāda iti mahadādisadbhāvāt puruṣārthakriyā pravarteta tat kathaṃ niḥsattvam avyaktam ity ata āha --- niḥsadasad iti/ niṣkrāntaṃ kāraṇaṃ sataḥ kāryāt/ yady api kāraṇāvasthāyāṃ sad eva śaktyātmanā kāryaṃ tathāpi svocitām arthakriyām akurvad asad ity uktam/ na caitat kāraṇaṃ śaśaviṣāṇāyamānakāryam ity āha --- nirasad iti/ niṣkrāntam asatas tuccharūpāt kāryāt tathā sati hi vyomāravindam ivāsmān na 85 kāryam utpadyeteti bhāvaḥ/ pratisargam uktam upasaṃharati --- eṣa teṣām iti/ eṣa ity anantaroktāt pūrvasya parāmarśaḥ/ liṅgamātrādyavasthāḥ puruṣārthakṛtatvād anityā aliṅgāvasthā tu puruṣārthenākṛtatvān nityety atra hetum āha --- aliṅgāvasthāyām iti/ kasmāt punar na puruṣārtho hetur ity ata āha --- nāliṅgāvasthāyām iti/ bhavatinā viṣayeṇa viṣayijñānam upalakṣayati/ etad uktaṃ bhavati --- evaṃ hi puruṣārthatā kāraṇam aliṅgāvasthāyāṃ jñāyeta/ yady aliṅgāvasthā śabdādyupabhogaṃ vā sattvapuruṣānyatākhyātiṃ vā puruṣārthaṃ nirvartayet tannirvartane hi na sāmyāvasthā syāt/ tasmāt puruṣārthakāraṇatvam asyāṃ na jñāyata iti nāsyāḥ puruṣārthatā hetuḥ/ upasaṃharati --- nāsāv iti/ itis tasmādarthe/ anityām avasthām āha --- trayāṇāṃ liṅgamātrāviśeṣaviśeṣāṇām iti/ parvasvarūpaṃ darśayitvā guṇasvarūpam āha --- guṇās tv iti/ nidarśanam āha --- yathā devadatta iti/ yatrātyantabhinnānāṃ gavām upacayāpacayau devadattopacayāpacayahetū tatra kaiva kathā guṇebhyo bhinnābhinnānāṃ vyaktīnām upajanāpāyayor ity arthaḥ/ nanu sargakramaḥ kim aniyato nety āha --- liṅgamātram iti/ na khalu nyagrodhadhānā ahnāyaiva nyagrodhaśākhinaṃ sāndraśādvaladalajaṭilaśākhākāṇḍanipītamārtaṇḍacaṇḍātapamaṇḍalam 86 ārabhante kiṃ tu kṣitisalilatejaḥsaṃparkāt paramparayopajāyamānāṅkurapatrakāṇḍanālādikrameṇa/ evam ihāpi yuktyāgamasiddhaḥ krama āstheya iti/ kathaṃ bhūtendriyāṇy aviśeṣasaṃsṛṣṭānīty ata āha --- tathā coktaṃ purastād idam eva sūtraṃ prathamaṃ vyācakṣāṇaiḥ/ atha viśeṣāṇāṃ kasmān na tattvāntarapariṇāma ukta ity ata āha --- na viśeṣebhya iti/ tat kim idānīm apariṇāmina eva viśeṣās tathā ca nityāḥ prasajyerann ity ata āha --- teṣāṃ tv iti //2.19//
