na kevalamasmaddarśane kṣetrajñaḥ kaivalyāvasthāyāmevaṃvidhaścidrūpaḥ yāvaddarśanāntareṣvapi vimṛṣyamāṇa evaṃrūpo+avatiṣṭhate| tathāhi --- saṃsāradaśāyāmātmā kartṛtvabhoktṛtvānusandhātṛtvamayaḥ pratīyate+anyathā yadyayamekaḥ kṣetrajñastathāvidho na syāttadā jñānakṣaṇānāmeva pūrvāparānusandhātṛśūnyānāmātmabhāve niyataḥ karmaphalasambandho na syāt kṛtahānākṛtābhyāgamaprasaṅgaśca| yadi yenaiva śāstropadiṣṭamanuṣṭhitaṃ karma tasyaiva bhoktṛtvaṃ bhavettadā hitāhitaprāptiparihārāya sarvasya pravṛttirghaṭeta sarvasyaiva vyavahārasya hānopādānalakṣaṇasyānusandhānenaiva prāptatvājjñānakṣaṇānāṃ parasparabhedenānusandhānaśūnyatvāt tadanusandhānābhāve kasyacidapi vyavahārānupapatteḥ kartā bhoktā+anusandhātā yaḥ sa ātmeti vyavasthāpyate| mokṣadaśāyāṃ tu sakalagrāhyagrāhakalakṣaṇavyavahārābhāvāccaitanyamātrameva tasyāvaśiṣyate taccaitanyaṃ citimātratvenaivopapadyate na punarātmasaṃvedanena| yasmādviṣayagrahaṇasamarthanameva cite rūpaṃ nātmagrāhakatvam| tathāhi --- arthaścityā gṛhyamāṇo+ayamiti gṛhyate svarūpaṃ gṛhyamāṇamahamiti na punaryugapadbahirmukhatā+antarmukhatālakṣaṇavyāpāradvayaṃ parasparaviruddhaṃ kartuṃ śakyam| ata ekasmin samaye vyāpāradvayasya kartumaśakyatvāccidrūpatayaivāvaśiṣyate| ato mokṣāvasthāyāṃ nivṛttādhikāreṣu guṇeṣu cinmātrarūpa evātmā+avatiṣṭhat ityeva yuktam| saṃsāradaśāyāṃ tu evambhūtasyaiva kartṛtvaṃ bhoktṛtvamanusandhātṛtvaṃ ca sarvamupapadyate| tathāhi --- yo+ayaṃ prakṛtyā sahānādirnaisargiko+asya bhogyabhoktṛtvalakṣaṇasambandho+avivekakhyātimūlaḥ| asmin sati puruṣārthakartavyatārūpaśaktidvayasadbhāve yā mahadādibhāvena pariṇatistasyāṃ saṃyoge sati yadātmano+adhiṣṭhātṛtvaṃ cicchāyāsamarpaṇasāmarthyaṃ buddhisattvasya ca saṃkrāntacicchāyāgrahaṇasāmarthyaṃ cidavaṣṭabdhāyāśca buddheryo+ayaṃ kartṛtvabhoktṛtvādhyavasāyastata eva sarvasyānusandhānapūrvakasya vyavahārasya niṣpatteḥ kimanyaiḥ phalgubhiḥ kalpanājalpaiḥ| yadi punarevambhūtamārgavyatirekeṇa pāramārthikamātmanaḥ kartṛtvādyaṅgīkriyeta tadā+asya pariṇāmitvaprasaṅgaḥ| pariṇāmitvāccānityatve tasyā+a+atmatvameva na syāt| yathā hyekasminneva samaye ekenaikarūpeṇa na parasparaviruddhāvasthānubhavaḥ sambhavati| tathāhi --- yasyāmavasthāyāmātmasamavete sukhe samutpanne tasyānubhavitṛtvaṃ na tasyāmevāvasthāyāṃ duḥkhānubhavitṛtvam| ato+avasthānānātvāt tadabhinnasyāvasthāvato nānātvam| nānātvācca pariṇāmitvānnātmatvam| nāpi nityatvam| ata eva śāntabrahmavādibhiḥ sāṃkhyairātmanaḥ sadaiva saṃsāradaśāyāṃ mokṣadaśāyāṃ caikaṃ rūpamaṅgīkriyate| ye tu vedāntavādinaścidānandamayatvamātmano mokṣaṃ manyante teṣāṃ na yuktaḥ pakṣaḥ| tathāhi --- ānandasya sukhasvarūpatvāt sukhasya ca sadaiva saṃvedyamānatayaiva pratibhāsāt saṃvedyamānatvaṃ ca saṃvedanavyatirekeṇānupapannamiti saṃbedyasaṃvedanayordvayorabhyupagamādadvaitahāniḥ| atha sukhātmakatvameva tasyocyeta tadviruddhadharmādhyāsādanupapannam| na hi saṃvedanaṃ saṃvedyaṃ caikaṃ bhavitumarhatīti| kiñcādvaitavādibhiḥ karmātmaparamātmabhedenātmā dvividhaḥ svīkṛtaḥ| itthaṃ ca tatra yenaiva rūpeṇa sukhaduḥkhabhoktṛtvaṃ karmātmanastenaiva rūpeṇa yadi paramātmanaḥ syāttadā karmātmavat paramātmanaḥ pariṇāmitvamavidyāsvabhāvatvaṃ ca syāt| atha na tasya sākṣādbhoktṛtvaṃ kintu tadupaḍhaukitamudāsīnatayā+adhiṣṭhātṛtvena svīkaroti tadā+asmaddarśanānupraveśaḥ| ānandarūpatā ca pūrvameva nirākṛtā| kiñcāvidyāsvabhāvatve niḥsvabhāvatvāt karmātmanāṃ kaḥ śāstrādhikārī| na tāvannityanirmuktatvāt paramātmā| nāpyavidyā svabhāvatvāt karmātmā| tataśca sakalaśāstravaiyarthyaprasaṅgaḥ| avidyāmayatve ca jagato+aṅgīkriyamāṇe kasyāvidyeti vicāryate| na tāvat paramātmano nityamuktatvādvidyārūpatvācca| karmātmano+api paramārthato niḥsvabhāvatayā śaśaviṣāṇaprakhyatve kathamavidyāsambandhaḥ| athocyate nama| etadevāvidyāyā avidyātvaṃ yadavicāraṇīyatvam| yaiva hi vicāreṇa dinakaraspṛṣṭanīhāravadvimalamupayāti sā+avidyetyucyate| maivam| yadvastu kiñcit kāryaṃ karoti tadavaśyaṃ kutaścidbhinnamabhinnaṃ vā vaktavyam| avidyāyāśca saṃsāralakṣaṇakāryakartṛtvamavaśyamaṅgīkartavyam| tasmin satyapi yadyanirvācyatvamucyate tadā kasyacidapi vācyatvaṃ na syāt brahmaṇo+apyavācyatvaprasaktiḥ| tasmādadhiṣṭhātṛtārūpavyatirekeṇa nānyadātmano rūpamupapadyate| adhiṣṭhātṛtvaṃ ca cidrūpatvameva tadvyatiriktasya dharmasya kasyacit pramāṇānupapatteḥ| yairapi naiyāyikādibhirātmā cetanāyogāccetana ityucyate cetanāpi tasya manaḥsaṃyogajā| tathāhi --- icchājñānaprayatnādayo ye guṇāstasya vyavahāradaśāyāmātmamanaḥsaṃyogādutpadyante taireva ca guṇaiḥ svayaṃ jñātā kartā bhokteti vyapadiśyate| mokṣadaśāyāṃ tu mithyājñānanivṛttau tanmūlānāṃ doṣāṇāmapi nivṛttiḥ| teṣāṃ buddhyādīnāṃ viśeṣaguṇānāmatyantocchittiḥ svarūpamātrapratiṣṭhatvamātmano+aṅgīkṛtaṃ teṣāmayuktaḥ pakṣaḥ| yatastasyāṃ daśāyāṃ nityatvavyāpakatvādayo guṇā ākāśādīnāmapi santi| atastadvailakṣaṇyenātmanaścidrūpatvamavaśyamaṅgīkāryam| ātmatvavilakṣaṇajātiyoga iti cenna| sarvasyaiva tajjātiyogaḥ sambhavati| ato jātibhyo vailakṣaṇyamātmano+avaśyamaṅgīkartavyam| tasyādhiṣṭhātṛtvaṃ cidrūpatayaiva ghaṭate nānyathā| yairapi mīmāṃsakaiḥ karmakartṛrūpa ātmā+aṅgīkriyate teṣāmapi na yuktaḥ pakṣaḥ| tathāhi --- ahaṃpratyayagrāhya ātmeti teṣāṃ pratijñā| ahaṃpratyaye ca kartṛtvaṃ karmatvaṃ cātmana eva| na caitadviruddhatvādupapadyate| kartṛtvaṃ pramātṛtvaṃ karmatvaṃ ca prameyatvam| na caitadviruddhadharmādhyāso yugapadekasya ghaṭate| yadviruddhadharmādhyastaṃ na tadekaṃ yathā bhāvābhāvau| viruddhe ca kartṛtvakarmatve| athocyate --- na kartṛtvakarmatvayorvirodhaḥ kintu kartṛtvakaraṇatvayoḥ| naitadyuktam| viruddhadharmādhyāsasya tulyatvāt kartṛtvakarmatvayoreva virodho na kartṛtvakarmatvayoḥ| tasmādahaṃpratyayagrāhyatvaṃparihṛtyātmano+adhiṣṭhātṛtvamevopapannam| tacca cetanatvameva| yairapi dravyabodhaparyāyabhedenātmano+avyāpakasya śarīraparimāṇasya pariṇāmitvamiṣyate teṣāmutthānaparāhata eva pakṣaḥ| pariṇāmitve cidrūpatāhāniḥ| cidrūpatā+abhāve kimātmana ātmatvam| tasmādātmana ātmatvamicchatā cidrūpatvamevāṅgīkartavyam| taccādhiṣṭhātṛtvameva| kecit kartṛrūpamevātmānamicchanti| tathāhi --- viṣayasānnidhye yā jñānalakṣaṇā kriyā samutpannā tasyā viṣayasaṃvittiḥ phalam| tasyāṃ ca phalarūpāyāṃ saṃvittau svarūpaṃ prakāśarūpatayā pratibhāsate| viṣayaśca grāhyatayā| ātmā ca grāhakatayā| ghaṭamahaṃ jānāmītyākāreṇa tasyāḥ samutpatteḥ| kriyāyāśca kāraṇaṃ karteva bhavatītyataḥ kartṛtvaṃ bhoktṛtvaṃ cātmano rūpamiti| tadanupapannam| yasmāttāsāṃ saṃvittīnāṃ sa kiṃ kartṛtvaṃ yugapat pratipadyate krameṇa vā| yugapat kartṛtve kṣaṇāntare tasya kartṛtvaṃ na syāt| atha krameṇa kartṛtvaṃ tadaikarūpasya na ghaṭate| ekena rūpeṇa cettasya katṛtvaṃ tadaikasya sadaiva sannihitatvāt sarvaṃ phalamekarūpaṃ syāt| atha nānārūpatayā tasya kartṛtvam| tadā pariṇāmitvam| pariṇāmitvācca na cidrūpatvam| ataścidrūpatvamātmana icchadbhirna sākṣātkartṛtvamaṅgīkartavyam| yādṛśamasmābhiḥ kartṛtvamātmanaḥ pratipāditaṃ kūṭasthasya nityasya cidrūpasya tadevopapannam| etena svaprakāśasyātmano viṣayasaṃvittidvāreṇa grāhakatvamabhivyajyata iti ye vadanti te+api anenaiva nirākṛtāḥ| kecidvimarśātmakatvenātmanaścinmayatvamicchanti| ta āhuḥ --- na vimarśavyatirekeṇa cidrūpatvamātmano nirūpayituṃ śakyam| jaḍādvailakṣaṇyameva cidrūpatvamucyate| tacca vimarśavyatirekeṇa nirūpyamāṇaṃ nānyathā+avatiṣṭhate| --- tadanupapannam| idamitthameva rūpamiti yo vicāraḥ saḥ vimarśa ityucyate| sa cāsmitāvyatirekeṇa notthānameva labhate| tathāhi --- ātmanyupajāyamāno vimarśo+ahamevambhūta ityanenā+a+akāreṇa saṃvedyate| tataścāhaṃśabdasambhinnasyātmalakṣaṇasyārthasya tatra sphuraṇānna tatra vikalpasvarūpatā+atikramaḥ| vikalpaścādhyavasāyātmā buddhidharmo na ciddharmaḥ| kūṭasthanityatvena citeḥ sadaikarūpatvānnityatvānnāhaṅkārānupraveśaḥ| tadanena savimarśatvamātmanaḥ pratipādayatā buddhirevātmatvena bhrāntyā pratipāditā na prakāśātmanaḥ parasya puruṣasya svarūpamavagatamiti| itthaṃ sarveṣveva darśaneṣvadhiṣṭhātṛtvaṃ vihāya nānyadātmano rūpamupapadyate| adhiṣṭhātṛtvaṃ ca cidrūpatvam| tacca jaḍādvailakṣaṇyameva| cidrūpatayā yadadhitiṣṭhati tadeva bhogyatāṃ nayati| yacca cetanādhiṣṭhitaṃ tadeva sakalavyāpārayogyaṃ bhavati| evaṃ ca sati nityatvāt pradhānasya vyāpāranivṛttau yadātmanaḥ kaivalyamasmābhiruktaṃ tadvihāya darśanāntarāṇāṃ nānyā gatiḥ| tasmādidameva yuktamuktaṃ vṛttisārūpyaparihāreṇa svarūpe pratiṣṭhā citiśakteḥ kaivalyam|
