kleśakarmavipākāśayair aparāmṛṣṭaḥ puruṣaviśeṣa īśvaraḥ //1.24//

nanu cetnācetanābhyām eva vyūḍhaṃ nānyena viśvam/ īśvaraś ced acetanas tarhi pradhānaṃ pradhānavikārāṇām api pradhānam adhyapātāt tathā ca na tasyāvarjanam acetanatvād atha cetanas tathāpi citiśakter audāsīnyād asaṃsāritayā cāsmitādivirahāt kuta āvarjanam/ kutaś cābhidhyānam ity āśayavān āha --- atha pradhāneti/ atra sūtreṇottaram āha --- kleśakarmavipākāśayair aparāmṛṣṭaḥ puruṣaviśeṣa īśvaraḥ/ avidyādayaḥ kleśāḥ kliśnanti khalv amī puruṣaṃ 25 sāṃsārikaṃ vividhaduḥkhaprahāreṇeti/ kuśalākuśalānīti dharmādharmās teṣāṃ ca karmajatvād upacārāt karmatvam/ vipāko jātyāyurbhogāḥ/ vipākānuguṇā vāsanās tāś cittabhūmāv āśerata ity āśayāḥ/ na hi karabhajātinirvartakaṃ karma prāgbhavīyakarabhabhogabhāvitāṃ bhāvanāṃ na yāvad abhivyanakti tāvat karabhocitāya bhogāya kalpate/ tasmād bhavati karabhajātyanubhavajanmā bhāvanā karabhavipākānuguṇeti/ nanv amī kleśādayo buddhidharmā na kathaṃcid api puruṣaṃ parāmṛśanti, tasmāt puruṣagrahaṇād eva tadaparāmarśasiddheḥ kṛtaṃ kleśakarmetyādinety ata āha --- te ca manasi vartamānāḥ sāṃsārike puruṣe vyapadiśyante/ kasmāt, sa hi tatphalasya bhoktā cetayiteti/ tasmāt puruṣatvād īśvarasyāpi tatsaṃbandhaḥ prāpta iti tatpratiṣedha upapadyata ity āha --- yo hy anena buddhisthenāpi puruṣamātrasādhāraṇena bhogenāparāmṛṣṭaḥ sa puruṣaviśeṣa īśvaraḥ/ viśiṣyata iti viśeṣaḥ puruṣāntarād vyavacchidyate/ viśeṣapadasya vyāvartyaṃ darśayitukāmaḥ paricodanāpūrvaṃ pariharati --- kaivalyaṃ prāptās tarhīti/ prakṛtilayānāṃ prākṛto bandhaḥ/ vaikāriko bandho videhānām/ dakṣiṇādibandho divyādivyaviṣayabhogabhājām/ tāny amūni trīṇi bandhanāni/ prakṛtibhāvanāsaṃskṛtamanaso hi dehapātānantaram eva prakṛtilayatām āpannā itītareṣāṃ pūrvā bandhakoṭiḥ prajñāyate, tenottarakoṭividhānamātram iha tu pūrvāparakoṭiniṣedha iti/ saṃkṣipya viśeṣaṃ darśayati --- sa tu sadaiva muktaḥ sadaiveśvara iti/ jñānakriyāśaktisaṃpad aiśvaryam/ 26 atra pṛcchati --- yo+asāv iti/ jñānakriye hi na cicchakter apariṇāminyāḥ saṃbhavata iti rajastamorahitaviśuddhacittasattvāśraye vaktavye/ na ceśvarasya sadā muktasyāvidyāprabhavacittasattvasamutkarṣeṇa saha svasvāmibhāvaḥ saṃbandhaḥ saṃbhavatīty ata uktaṃ --- prakṛṣṭasattvopādānād iti/ neśvarasya pṛthagjanasyevāvidyānibandhanaś cittasattvena svasvāmibhāvaḥ/ kiṃ tu tāpatrayaparītān pretyabhāvamahārṇavāj jantūn uddhariṣyāmi jñānadharmopadeśena/ na ca jñānakriyāsāmarthyātiśayasaṃpattim antareṇa tadupadeśaḥ/ na ceyam apahatarajastamomalaviśuddhasattvopādānaṃ vinety ālocya sattvaprakarṣam upādatte bhagavān aparāmṛṣṭo 'py avidyayā/ avidyābhimānī cāvidyāyās tattvam avidvān bhavati na punar avidyām avidyātvena sevamānaḥ/ na khalu śailūṣo rāmatvam āropya tās tāś ceṣṭā darśayan bhrānto bhavati/ tad idam āhāryam asya rūpaṃ na tāttvikam iti/ syād etat/ uddidhīrṣayā bhagavatā sattvam upādeyaṃ tadupādānena ca taduddidhīrṣā, asyā api prākṛtatvāt tathā cānyonyāśraya ity ata uktam --- śāśvatika iti/ bhaved etad evaṃ yadīdaṃprathamatā sargasya bhaved anādau tu sargasaṃhāraprabandhe sargāntarasamutpannasaṃjihīrṣāvadhisamaye pūrṇe mayā sattvaprakarṣa upādeya iti praṇidhānaṃ kṛtvā bhagavāñ jagat saṃjahāra/ tadā ceśvaracittasattvaṃ praṇidhānavāsitaṃ pradhānasāmyam upagatam api paripūrṇo mahāpralayāvadhau praṇidhānavāsanāvaśāt tathaiveśvaracittasattvabhāvena pariṇamate/ yathā caitraḥ śvaḥ prātar evotthātavyaṃ mayeti praṇidhāya suptas tadaivottiṣṭhati praṇidhānasaṃskārāt/ tasmād anāditvād īśvarapraṇidhānasattvopādānayoḥ śāśvatikatvena nānyonyāśrayaḥ/ na ceśvarasya cittasattvaṃ mahāpralaye+api na prakṛtisāmyam upaitīti vācyam/ yasya hi na kadācid api pradhānasāmyaṃ na tat prādhānikaṃ nāpi citiśaktir ajñatvād ity arthāntaram aprāmāṇikam āpadyeta/ tac cāyuktaṃ, prakṛtipuruṣavyatirekeṇārthāntarābhāvāt/ so+ayam īdṛśa īśvarasya śāśvatika utkarṣaḥ/ sa kiṃ sanimittaḥ sapramāṇaka āhosvin nirnimitto niṣpramāṇaka iti/ uttaraṃ --- tasya śāstraṃ nimittam/ śrutismṛtītihāsapurāṇāni śāstram/ codayati --- śāstraṃ punaḥ kiṃnimittam/ pratyakṣānumānapūrvaṃ hi śāstram/ na ceśvarasya sattvaprakarṣe kasyacit pratyakṣam anumānaṃ vāsti/ na ceśvarapratyakṣaprabhavaṃ śāstram iti yuktam/ kalpayitvāpi hy ayaṃ brūyād ātmaiśvaryaprakāśanāyeti bhāvaḥ/ pariharati --- prakṛṣṭasattvanimittam/ 27 ayam abhisaṃdhiḥ --- mantrāyurvedeṣu tāvad īśvarapraṇīteṣu pravṛttisāmarthyād arthāvyabhicāraviniścayāt prāmāṇyaṃ siddham/ na cauṣadhibhedānāṃ tatsaṃyogaviśeṣāṇāṃ ca mantrāṇāṃ ca tattadvarṇāvāpoddhāreṇa sahasreṇāpi puruṣāyuṣair laukikapramāṇavyavahārī śaktaḥ kartum anvayavyatirekau/ na cāgamād anvayavyatirekau tābhyāṃ cāgamas tatsaṃtānayor anāditvād iti pratipādayituṃ yuktam/ mahāpralaye tatsaṃtānayor vicchedāt/ na ca tadbhāve pramāṇābhāvaḥ/ abhinnaṃ pradhānavikāro jagad iti hi pratipādayiṣyate/ sadṛśapariṇāmasya ca visadṛśapariṇāmatā dṛṣṭā/ yathā kṣīrekṣurasāder dadhiguḍādirūpam/ visadṛśapariṇāmasya pūrvaṃ sadṛśapariṇāmatā ca dṛṣṭā/ tad iha pradhānenāpi mahadahaṃkārādirūpavisadṛśapariṇāmena satā bhāvyaṃ kadācit sadṛśapariṇāmenāpi/ sadṛśapariṇāmaś cāsya sāmyāvasthā/ sa ca mahāpralayaḥ/ tasmān mantrāyurvedapraṇayanāt tāvad bhagavato vigalitarajastamomalāvaraṇatayā paritaḥ pradyotamānaṃ buddhisattvam āstheyam/ tathā cābhyudayaniḥśreyasopadeśaparo+api vedarāśir īśvarapraṇītas tadbuddhisattvaprakarṣād eva bhavitum arhati/ na ca sattvotkarṣe rajastamaḥprabhavau vibhramavipralambhau saṃbhavataḥ/ tat siddhaṃ prakṛṣṭasattvanimittaṃ śāstram iti/ syād etat/ prakarṣakāryatayā prakarṣaṃ bodhayac chāstraṃ śeṣavad anumānaṃ bhaven na tv āgama ity ata āha --- etayor iti/ na kāryatvena bodhayaty api tv anādivācyavācakabhāvasaṃbandhena bodhayatīty arthaḥ/ īśvarasya hi buddhisattve prakarṣo vartate, śāstram api tadvācakatvena tatra vartata iti/ upasaṃharati --- etasmād īśvarabuddhisattvaprakarṣavācakāc chāstrād etad bhavati jñāyate viṣayeṇa viṣayiṇo lakṣaṇāt sadaiveśvaraḥ sadaiva mukta iti/ tad evaṃ puruṣāntarād vyavacchidyeśvarāntarād api vyavacchinatti --- tac ca tasyeti/ atiśayavinirmuktim āha --- na tāvad iti/ kutaḥ --- yad eveti/ kasmāt sarvātiśayavinirmuktaṃ tadaiśvaryam ity ata āha --- tasmād yatreti/ atiśayaniṣṭhām aprāptānām aupacārikam aiśvaryam ity arthaḥ/ 28 sāmyavinirmuktim āha --- na ca tatsamānam iti/ prākāmyam avihatecchatā tadvighātān ūnatvam (tadvighātād ūnatvam) anūnatve vā dvayor api prākāmyavighātaḥ kāryānutpatter utpattau vā viruddhadharmasamāliṅgitam ekadā kāryam upalabhyetety āśayavān āha --- dvayoś ceti/ aviruddhābhiprāyatve vā pratyekam īśvaratve kṛtam anyair ekenaiveśanāyāḥ kṛtatvāt/ saṃbhūyakāritve vā na kaścid īśvaraḥ pariṣadvan nityeśanāyogināṃ ca paryāyāyogāt kalpanāgauravaprasaṅgāc ceti draṣṭavyam/ tasmāt sarvam avadātam //1.24//
