anityāśuciduḥkhānātmasu nityaśucisukhātmakhyātir avidyā/ anityatvopayogiviśeṣaṇaṃ --- kārya iti/ kecit kila bhūtāni nityatvenābhimanyamānās tadrūpam abhīpsavas 61 tāny evopāsate/ evaṃ dhūmādimārgān upāsate candrasūryatārakādyulokān nityān abhimanyamānās tatprāptaye/ evaṃ divaukaso devān amṛtān abhimanyamānās tabhāvāya somaṃ pibanti/ āmnāyate hi --- "apāma somam amṛtā abhūma" taittirīyasaṃhitā 3.2.5.4 iti/ seyam anityeṣu nityakhyātir avidyā/ tathāśucau paramabībhatse kāye/ ardhokta eva kāyabībhatsatāyāṃ vaiyāsikīṃ gāthāṃ paṭhati --- sthānād iti/ mātur udaraṃ mūtrādyupahataṃ sthānaṃ, pitror lohitaretasīṃ bījam/ aśitapītāhārarasādibhāva upaṣṭambhas tena śarīraṃ dhāryate/ niḥsyandaḥ prasvedaḥ/ nidhanaṃ ca śrotriyaśarīram apy apavitrayati tatsparśe snānavidhānāt/ nanu yadi śarīram aśuci kṛtaṃ tarhi mṛjjalādikṣālanenety ata āha --- ādheyaśaucatvād iti/ svabhāvenāśucer api śarīrasya śaucam ādheyaṃ sugandhiteva kāminīnām aṅgarāgādibhiḥ/ ardhoktaṃ pūrayati --- ity uktebhyo hetubhyo+aśucau śarīra iti/ śucikhyātim āha --- naveti/ hāvaḥ śṛṅgārajā līlā/ kasya strīkāyasya paramabībhatsasya kena mandatamasādṛśyena śaśāṅkalekhādinā saṃbandhaḥ/ etenāśucau strīkāye śucikhyātipradarśanena/ apuṇye hiṃsādau saṃsāramocakādīnāṃ puṇyapratyayaḥ/ evam arjanarakṣaṇādiduḥkhabahulatayānarthe dhanādāv arthapratyayā vyākhyātāḥ sarveṣāṃ jugupsitatvenāśucitvāt/ tathā duḥkha iti/ sugamam/ tathānātmanīti/ sugamam/ tathaitad atroktaṃ pañcaśikhena/ 62 vyaktaṃ cetanaṃ putradārapaśvādi/ avyaktam acetanaṃ śayyāsanāśanādi/ sa sarvo+apratibuddho mūḍhaḥ/ catvāri padāni sthānāny asyā iti catuṣpadā/ nanv anyāpi diṅmohālātacakrādiviṣayānantapadāvidyā tat kim ucyate catuṣpadety ata āha --- mūlam asyeti/ santu nāmānyā apy avidyāḥ saṃsārabījaṃ tu catuṣpadaiveti/ nanv avidyeti nañsamāsaḥ pūrvapadārthapradhāno vā syād yathāmakṣikam iti/ uttarapadārthapradhāno vā yathārājapuruṣa iti/ anyapadārthapradhāno vā yathāmakṣiko deśa iti/ tatra pūrvapadārthapradhānatve vidyāyāḥ prasajyapratiṣedho gamyeta/ na cāsyāḥ kleśādikāraṇatvam/ uttarapadārthapradhānatve vā vidyaiva kasyacid abhāvena viśiṣṭā gamyeta/ sā ca kleśādiparipanthinī na tu tadbījam/ na hi pradhānopaghātī pradhānaguṇo yuktaḥ/ tadanupaghātāya guṇe tv anyāyyakalpanā/ tasmād vidyāsvarūpānupaghātāya naño+anyathākaraṇam apy āhāro vā niṣedhyasyeti/ anyapadārthapradhānatve tv avidyamānavidyā buddhir vaktavyā/ na cāsau vidyāyā abhāvamātreṇa kleśādibījam/ vivekakhyātipūrvakanirodhasaṃpannāyā api tathātvaprasaṅgāt/ tasmāt sarvathaivāvidyāyā na kleśādimūlatety ata āha --- tasyāś ceti/ vastuno bhāvo vastusatattvaṃ vastutvam iti yāvat/ tad anena na prasajyapratiṣedhaḥ/ nāpi vidyaivāvidyā, na tadabhāvaviśiṣṭā buddhir api tu vidyāviruddhaṃ viparyayajñānam avidyety uktam/ lokādhīnāvadhāraṇo hi śabdārthayoḥ saṃbandhaḥ/ loke cottarapadārthapradhānasyāpi naña uttarapadābhidheyopamardakasya tallakṣitatadviruddhaparatayā tatra tatropalabdher ihāpi tadviruddhe vṛttir iti bhāvaḥ/ dṛṣṭāntaṃ vibhajate --- yathā nāmitra iti/ na mitrābhāvo nāpi mitramātram ity asyānantaraṃ vastvantaraṃ kiṃ tu tadviruddhaḥ sapatna iti vaktavyam/ tathāgoṣpadam iti na goṣpadābhāvo na goṣpadamātraṃ kiṃ tu deśa eva vipulo goṣpadaviruddhas tābhyām abhāvagoṣpadābhyām anyad vastvantaram/ dārṣṭāntike yojayati --- evam iti //2.5// 63
