ṣaṣṭho+adhyāyaḥ/
Ca.3.6.1 athāto rogānīkaṃ vimānaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ//
Ca.3.6.2 iti ha smāha bhagavānātreyaḥ//
Ca.3.6.3 dve rogānīke bhavataḥ prabhāvabhedena-sādhyam,asādhyaṃ ca; dve rogānīke balabhedena-mṛdu,dāruṇaṃ ca; dve rogānīke adhiṣṭhānabhedena-mano+adhiṣṭhānaṃ,śarīrādhiṣṭhānaṃ ca; dve rogānīke nimittabhedena-svadhātuvaiṣamyanimittam,āgantunimittaṃ ca; dve rogānīke āśayabhedena-āmāśayasamutthaṃ,pakvāśayasamutthaṃ ceti/
evametat prabhāvalādhiṣṭhānanimittāśayabhedāddvaidhaṃ sadbhedaprakṛtyantareṇa bhidyamānamathavā+api sandhīyamānaṃ syādekatvaṃ bahutvaṃ vā/
ekatvaṃ tāvadekameva rogānīkaṃ,*duḥkhasāmānyāt; bahutvaṃ tu daśa rogānīkāni prabhāvabhedādinā bhavanti; bahutvamapi saṃkhyeyaṃ syādasaṃkhyeyaṃ vā/tatra saṃkhyeyaṃ tāvadyathoktamaṣṭodarīye,aparisaṃkhyeyaṃ punaryathā---mahārogādhyāye rugvarṇasamutthānādīnāmasaṃkhyeyatvāt//
Ca.3.6.4 na ca saṃkhyeyāgreṣu bhedaprakṛtyantarīyeṣu vigītirityato doṣavatī syādatra kācit pratijñā, na cāvigītirityataḥ syādadoṣavatī/
bhettā hi bhedyamanyathā bhinatti, anyathā punastādbhinnaṃ bhedaprakṛtyantareṇa bhindan bhedasaṃkhyāviśeṣamāpādayatyanekadhā, na ca pūrvaṃ bhedāgramupahanti/
samānāyāmapi khalu bhedaprakṛtau *prakṛtānuprayogāntaramapekṣyam/
santihyarthāntarāṇi samānaśabdābhihitāni, santi cānarthāntarāṇi paryāyaśabdābhihitāni/
samāno hi rogaśabdo doṣeṣu ca vyādhiṣu ca; doṣā hyapi rogaśabdamātaṅkaśabdaṃ yakṣmaśabdaṃ doṣaprakṛtiśabdaṃ vikāraśabdaṃ ca labhante, vyādhayaśca rogaśabdamātaṅkaśabdaṃ yakṣmaśabdaṃ doṣaprakṛtiśabdaṃ vikāraśabdaṃ ca labhante/
tatra doṣeṣu caiva vyādhiṣu ca rogaśabdaḥ samānaḥ, śeṣeṣu tu viśeṣavān//
Ca.3.6.5 tatra vyādhayo+aparisaṃkhyeyā bhavanti, atibahutvāt; doṣāstu khalu parisaṃkhyeyā bhavanti, anatibahutvāt/
tasmādyathācitraṃ vikārānudāharaṇārtham, anavaśeṣeṇa ca doṣān vyākhyāsyāmaḥ/
rajastamaśca mānasau doṣau/
tayorvikārāḥ kāmakrodhalobhamoherṣyāmānamadaśokacitto(nto)dvegabhayaharṣādayaḥ/
vātapittaśleṣmāṇastu khalu śārīrā doṣāḥ/
teṣāmapi ca vikārā jvarātīsāraśophaśoṣaśvāsamehakuṣṭhādayaḥ/
iti doṣāḥ kevalā vyākhyātā vikāraikadeśaśca//
Ca.3.6.6 tatra khalveṣāṃ dvayānāmapi doṣāṇāṃ trividhaṃ prakopaṇaṃ; tadyathā---asātmyendriyārthasaṃyogaḥ, prajñāparādhaḥ, pariṇāmaśceti//
Ca.3.6.7 prakupitāstu khalu te prakopaṇaviśeṣāddūṣyaviśeṣācca vikāraviśeṣānabhinirvartayantyaparisaṃkhyeyān//
Ca.3.6.8 te ca vikārāḥ parasparamanuvartamānāḥ kadācidanubadhnanti kāmādayo jvarādayaśca//
Ca.3.6.9 niyatastvanubandho rajastamasoḥ parasparaṃ, na hyarajaskaṃ tamaḥ *pravartate//
Ca.3.6.10 (prāyaḥ) śārīradoṣāṇāmekādhiṣṭhānīyānāṃ sannipātaḥ saṃsargo vā samānaguṇatvāt; doṣā hi dūṣaṇaiḥ samānāḥ//
Ca.3.6.11 tatrānubandhyānubandhakṛto viśeṣaḥ---svatantre vyaktaliṅgo yathoktasamutthānapraśamo bhavatyanubandhyaḥ, tadviparītalakṣaṇastvanubandhaḥ/
*anubandhyalakṣaṇasamanvitāstatra yadi doṣā bhavanti tattrikaṃ sannipātamācakṣate, dvayaṃ vā saṃsargam/
anubandhyānubandhaviśeṣakṛtastu bahuvidho doṣabhedaḥ/
evameṣa saṃjñāprakṛto bhiṣajāṃ doṣeṣu vyādhiṣu ca *nānāprakṛtiviśeṣavyūhaḥ//
Ca.3.6.12 agniṣu tu śārīreṣu caturvidho viśeṣo balabhedena bhavati/
tadyathā---tīkṣṇo, mandaḥ, samo, viṣamaśceti/
tatra tīkṣṇo+agniḥ sarvāpacārasahaḥ, tadviparītalakṣaṇastu mandaḥ, samastu khalvapacārato vikṛtimāpadyate+anapacāratastu prakṛtāvavatiṣṭhate, samalakṣaṇaviparītalakṣaṇastu viṣama iti/
ete caturvidhā bhavantyagnayaścaturvidhānāmeva puruṣāṇām/
tatra samavātapittaśleṣmaṇāṃ prakṛtisthānāṃ samā bhavantyagnayaḥ, vātalānāṃ tu vātābhibhūte+agnyadhiṣṭhāne viṣamā bhavantyagnayaḥ, pittalānāṃ tu pittābhibhūte hyagnyadhiṣṭhāne tīkṣṇā bhavantyagnayaḥ, śleṣmalānāṃ tu śleṣmābhibhūte+agnyadhiṣṭhāne mandā bhavantyagnayaḥ//
Ca.3.6.13 tatra kecidāhuḥ---na samavātapittaśleṣmāṇo jantavaḥ santi, viṣamāhāropayogitvānmanuṣyāṇāṃ; tasmācca vātaprakṛtayaḥ kecit, kecit pittaprakṛtayaḥ, kecit punaḥ śleṣmaprakṛtayo bhavantīti/
taccānupapannaṃ, kasmāt kāraṇāt? samavātapittaśleṣmāṇaṃ hyarogamicchanti bhiṣajaḥ, *yataḥ prakṛtiścārogyam, ārogyārthā ca bheṣajapravṛttiḥ, sā ceṣṭarūpā, tasmāt santi samavātapittaśleṣmāṇaḥ; na khalu santi vātaprakṛtayaḥ pittaprakṛtayaḥ śleṣmaprakṛtayo vā/
tasya tasya *kila doṣasyādhikyāt sā sā doṣaprakṛtirucyate manuṣyāṇāṃ, na ca vikṛteṣu doṣeṣu prakṛtisthatvamupapadyate, tasmānnaitāḥ prakṛtayaḥ santi; santi tu khalu vātalāḥ pittalāḥ śleṣmalāśca, aprakṛtisthāstu te jñeyāḥ//
Ca.3.6.14 teṣāṃ tu khalu caturvidhānāṃ puruṣāṇāṃ *catvāryanupraṇidhānāni śreyaskarāṇi bhavanti/
tatra samasarvadhātūnāṃ sarvākārasamam, adhikadoṣāṇāṃ tu trayāṇāṃ yathāsvaṃ doṣādhikyamabhisamīkṣya doṣapratikūlayogīni trīṇyanu(nna)praṇidhānāni śreyaskarāṇi bhavanti yāvadagneḥ samībhāvāt, same tu samameva kāryam; evaṃ ceṣṭā bheṣajaprayogāścāpare/
*tān vistareṇānuvyākhyāsyāmaḥ//
Ca.3.6.15 trayastu putuṣā bhavantyāturāḥ, te tvanāturāstantrānatarīyāṇāṃ bhiṣajām/
tadyathā---vātalaḥ, pittalaḥ, śleṣmalaśceti/
teṣāmidaṃ viśeṣavijñānaṃ---vātalasya vātanimittāḥ, pittalasya pittanimittāḥ, śleṣmalasya śleṣmanimittā vyādhayaḥ prāyeṇa balavantaśca bhavanti//
Ca.3.6.16 tatra vātalasya *vātaprakopaṇānyāsevamānasya kṣipraṃ vātaḥ prakopamāpadyate, na tathetarau doṣau; sa tasya prakopamāpanno yathoktairvikāraiḥ śarīramupatapati balavarṇasukhāyuṣāmupaghātāya/
tasyāvajayanaṃ---snehasvedau vidhiyuktau, mṛdūni ca saṃśodhanāni snehoṣṇamadhurāmlalavaṇayuktāni, tadvadabhyavahāryāṇi, abhyaṅgopanāhanodveṣṭanonmardanapariṣekāvagāhanasaṃvāhanāvapīḍanavitrāsanavismāpanavismāraṇāni, surāsavavidhānaṃ, snehāścānekayonayo dīpanīyapācanīyavātaharavirecanīyopahitāstathā śatapākāḥ sahasrapākāḥ sarvaśaśca prayogārthāḥ, bastayaḥ, bastiniyamaḥ sukhaśīlatā ceti//
Ca.3.6.17 pittalasyāpi *pittaprakopaṇānyāsevamānasya kṣipraṃ pittaṃ prakopamāpadyate, na tathetarau doṣau; tadasya prakopamāpannaṃ yathoktairvikāraiḥ śarīramupatapati balavarṇasukhāyuṣāmupaghātāya/
tasyāvajayanaṃ---sarpiṣpānaṃ, sarpiṣā ca snehanam, adhaśca doṣaharaṇaṃ, madhuratiktakaṣāyaśītānāṃ caiṣadhābhyavahāryāṇāmupayogaḥ, mṛdumadhurasurabhiśītahṛdyānāṃ gandhānāṃ copasevā, muktāmaṇihārāvalīnāṃ ca paramaśiśiravārisaṃsthitānāṃ dhāraṇamurasā, kṣaṇe kṣaṇe+agryacandanapriyaṅgukālīyamṛṇālaśītavātavāribhirutpalakumudakokanadasaugandhikapadmānugataiśca vāribhirabhiprokṣaṇaṃ, śrutisukhamṛdumadhuramano+anugānāṃ ca gītavāditrāṇāṃ śravaṇaṃ, śravaṇaṃ cābhyudayānāṃ, suhṛdbhiḥ saṃyogaḥ, saṃyogaśceṣṭābhiḥ strībhiḥ śītopahitāṃśukasragdhāriṇībhiḥ, niśākarāṃśuśītalapravātaharmyavāsaḥ, śailāntarapulinaśiśirasadanavasanavyajanapavanasevanaṃ, ramyāṇāṃ copavanānāṃ sukhaśiśirasurabhimārutopahitānāmupasevanaṃ, sevanaṃ ca padmotpalanalinakumudasaugandhikapuṇḍarīka-*śatapatrahastānāṃ, saumyānāṃ ca sarvabhāvānāmiti//
Ca.3.6.18 śleṣmalasyāpi *śleṣmaprakopaṇānyāsevamānasya kṣipraṃ śleṣmā prakopamāpadyate, na tathetarau doṣauḥ; sa tasya prakopamāpanno yathoktairvikāraiḥ śarīramupatapati balavarśasukhāyuṣāmupaghātāya/
tasyāvajayanaṃ---vidhiyuktāni tīkṣṇoṣṇāni saṃśodhanāni, rūkṣaprāyāṇi cābhyavahāryāṇi kaṭukatiktakaṣāyopahitāni, tathaiva dhāvanalaṅghanaplavanaparisaraṇajāgaraṇaniyuddhavyavāyavyāyāmonmardanasnānotsādanāni, viśeṣatastīkṣṇānāṃ dīrghakālasthitānāṃ ca madyānāmupayogaḥ, sadhūmapānaḥ sarvaśaścopavāsaḥ, tathoṣṇaṃ vāsaḥ, sukhapratiṣedhaśca sukhārthameveti//
