Su.5.4.34 tatra darvīkarāḥ kṛṣṇasarpo, mahākṛṣṇaḥ, kṛṣṇodaraḥ śvetakapoto, mahākapoto, balāhako, mahāsarpaḥ, śaṅkhakapālo†, lohitākṣo, gavedhukaḥ, parisarpaḥ, khaṇḍaphaṇaḥ, kakudaḥ, padmo, mahāpadmo, darbhapuṣpo, dadhimukhaḥ, puṇḍarīko, bhrūkuṭīmukho, viṣkiraḥ, puṣpābhikīrṇo, girisarpaḥ, ṛjusarpaḥ, śvetodaro, mahāśirā, alagarda, aśīviṣa iti (1); maṇḍalinastu ādarśamaṇḍalaḥ, śvetamaṇḍalo, raktamaṇḍalaḥ, citramaṇḍalaḥ, pṛṣato, rodhrapuṣpo, milindako, gonaso, vṛddhagonasaḥ, panaso, mahāpanaso, veṇupatrakaḥ, śiśuko madanaḥ, pālindiraḥ, piṅgalaḥ†, tantukaḥ puṣpapāṇḍuḥ, ṣaḍaṅgo, agniko babhruḥ, kaṣāyaḥ, kaluṣaḥ pārāvato, hastābharaṇaḥ, citrakaḥ, eṇīpada iti (2); rājimantastu puṇḍarīko rājicitro, aṅgularājiḥ, bindurājiḥ, kardamakaḥ, tṛṇaśoṣakaḥ, sarṣapakaḥ śvetahanuḥ, darbhapuṣpaścakrako, godhūmakaḥ, kikkisāda iti (3); nirviṣāstu galagolī, śūkapatro, ajagaro, divyako, varṣāhikaḥ, puṣpaśakalī, jyotīrathaḥ, kṣīrikāpuṣpako, ahipatāko, andhāhiko, gaurāhiko, vṛkṣeśaya iti (4); vaikarañjāstu trayāṇāṃ darvīkarādīnāṃ vyatikarājjātāḥ, tadyathā mākuliḥ, poṭagalaḥ, snigdharājiriti/ tatra kṛṣṇasarpeṇa gonasyāṃ vaiparītyena vā jāto mākuliḥ; rājilena gonasyāṃ vaiparītyena vā jātaḥ poṭagalaḥ; kṛṣṇasarpeṇa rājimatyāṃ vaiparītyena vā jātaḥ snigdharājiriti/ teṣāmādyasya pitṛvadviṣotkarṣo, dvayormātṛvadityeke (5); trayāṇāṃ vaikarañjānāṃ punardivyelakarodhrapuṣpakarājicitrakapoṭagalapuṣpābhikīrṇadarṇadarbhapuṣpavellitakāḥ sapta; teṣāmādyāstrayo rājilavat, śeṣā maṇḍalivat, evameteṣāṃ sarpāṇāmaśītirvyākhyātā//
Su.5.4.35 tatra mahānetrajihvāsyaśirasaḥ pumāṃsaḥ, sūkṣmanetrajihvāsyaśirasaḥ striyaḥ, ubhayalakṣaṇā mandavisā akrodhā napuṃsakā iti//
Su.5.4.36 tatra sarveṣāṃ sarpāṇāṃ sāmānyata eva daṣṭalakṣaṇaṃ vakṣyāmaḥ/ kiṃ kāraṇaṃ viṣaṃ hi niśitanistriṃśāśanihutavahadeśyamāśukāri muhūrtamapyupekṣitamāturamatipātayati, na cāvakāśo+asti vāksamūhamupasartuṃ pratyekamapi daṣṭalakṣaṇe+abhihite †sarvatra traividhyaṃ bhavati, tasmāt traividhyameva vakṣyāmaḥ; etaddhyāturahitamasaṃmohakaraṃ ca, api cātraiva sarvasarpavyañjanāvarodhaḥ//
Su.5.4.37 tatra darvīkaraviṣeṇa tvaṅnayananakhadaśanavadanamūtrapurīṣadaṃśakṛṣṇatvaṃ raukṣyaṃ śiraso gauravaṃ sandhivedanā kaṭīpṛṣṭhagrīvādaurbalyaṃ jṛmbhaṇaṃ vepathuḥ svarāvasādo ghurghurako jaḍatā śuṣkodgāraḥ kāsaśvāsau hikkā vāyorūrdhvagamanaṃ śūlodveṣṭanaṃ tṛṣṇā lālāsrāvaḥ phenāgamanaṃ sroto+avarodhastāstāśca vātavedanā bhavanti; maṇḍaliviṣeṇa tvagādīnāṃ pītatvaṃ śītābhilāṣaḥ paridhūpanaṃ dāhastṛṣṇā mado mūrcchā jvaraḥ śoṇitāgamanamūrdhvamadhaśca māṃsānāmavaśātanaṃ śvayathurdaṃśakothaḥ pītarūpadarśanamāśukopastāstāśca pittavedanā bhavanti; rājimadviṣeṇa śuklatvaṃ tvagādīnāṃ śītajvaro romaharṣaḥ stabdhatvaṃ gātrāṇāmādaṃśaśophaḥ sāndrakaphaprasekaśchardirabhīkṣṇamakṣṇoḥ kaṇḍūḥ kaṇṭhe śvayathurghurghuraka ucchvāsanirodhastamaḥpraveśastāstāśca kaphavedanā bhavanti//
Su.5.4.38 puruṣābhidaṣṭa ūrdhvaṃ prekṣate, adhastāt striyā sirāścottiṣṭhanti lalāṭe, napuṃsakābhidaṣṭastiryakprekṣī bhavati, garbhiṇyā pāṇḍumukho dhmātaśca, sūtikayā kukṣiśūlārtaḥ sarudhiraṃ mehatyupajihvikā cāsya bhavati, grāsārthinā+annaṃ kāṅkṣati, vṛddhena cirānmandāśca vegāḥ, bālenāśu mṛdavaśca, nirviṣeṇāviṣaliṅgaṃ, andhāhikenāndhatvamityeke, grasanāt ajagaraḥ śarīraprāṇaharo na visāt/ tatra sadyaḥprāṇaharāhidaṣṭaḥ patati śāstrāśanihata eva bhūmau, srastāṅgaḥ svapiti//
Su.5.4.39 tatra sarveṣāṃ sarpāṇāṃ viṣasya sapta vegā bhavanti/ tatra darvīkarāṇāṃ prathame vege viṣaṃ śoṇitaṃ dūṣayati, tat praduṣṭaṃ kṛṣṇatāmupaiti, tena kārṣṇyaṃ pipīlikāparisarpaṇamiva cāṅge bhavati; dvitīye māṃsaṃ dūṣayati, tenātyarthaṃ kṛṣṇatā śopho granthayaścāṅge bhavanti; tṛtīye medo dūṣayati, tena daṃśakledaḥ śirogauravaṃ† svedaścakṣurgrahaṇaṃ ca; caturthe koṣṭhamajupraviśya kaphapradhānān doṣān dūṣayati, tena tandrāprasekasandhiviśleṣā bhavanti; pañcame+asthīnyanupraviśati prāṇamagniṃ ca dūṣayati, tena parvabhedo hikkā dāhaśca bhavati; ṣaṣṭhe majjānamanupraviśati grahaṇīṃ cātyarthaṃ dūṣayati, tena gātrāṇāṃ gauravamatīsāro hṛtpīḍā mūrcchā ca bhavati; saptame śukramanupraviśati vyānaṃ cātyarthaṃ kopayati kaphaṃ ca sūkṣmasrotobhyaḥ pracyāvayati, tena śleṣmavartiprādurbhāvaḥ kaṭīpṛṣṭhabhaṅgaḥ sarvaceṣṭāvighāto lālāsvedayoratipravṛttirucchvāsanirodhaśca bhavati/ maṇḍalināṃ prathame vege viṣaṃ śoṇitaṃ dūṣayati, tat praduṣṭaṃ pītatāmupaiti, tatra paridāhaḥ pītāvabhāsatā cāṅgānāṃ bhavati; dvitīye māṃsaṃ dūṣayati, tenātyarthaṃ pītatā paridāho daṃśe śvayathuśca bhavati; tṛtīye medo dūṣayati, tena pūrvavaccakṣurgrahaṇaṃ tṛṣṇā daṃśakledaḥ svedaśca; caturthe koṣṭhamanupraviśya jvaramāpādayati; pañcame paridāhaṃ sarvagātreṣu karoti, ṣaṣṭhasaptamayoḥ pūrvavat/ rājimatāṃ prathame vege viṣaṃ śoṇitaṃ dūṣayati tat praduṣṭaṃ pāṇḍutāmupaiti, tena romaharṣaḥ śuklāvabhāsaśca puruṣo bhavati; dvitīye māṃsaṃ dūṣayati, tena pāṇḍutā+atyarthaṃ jāḍyaṃ śiraḥśophaśca bhavati; tṛtīye medo dūṣayati, tena cakṣurgrahaṇaṃ daṃśakledaḥ svedo ghrāṇākṣisrāvaśca bhavati; caturthe koṣṭhamanupraviśya manyāstambhaṃ śirogauravaṃ cāpādayati; pañcame vāksaṅgaṃ śītajvaraṃ ca karoti; ṣaṣṭhasaptamayoḥ pūrvavaditi//
