tad asaṃkhyeyavāsanābhiś citram api parārthaṃ saṃhatyakāritvāt //4.24//

cittātiriktātmasadbhāve hetvantaram avatārayati --- kutaś ceti/ tad asaṃkhyeyavāsanābhiś citram api parārthaṃ saṃhatyakāritvāt/ yady apy asaṃkhyeyāḥ karmavāsanāḥ kleśavāsanāś ca cittam evādhiśerate na tu puruṣam/ tathā ca vāsanādhīnā vipākāś cittāśrayatayā cittasya bhoktṛtām āvahanti, bhoktur arthe ca bhogyam iti sarvaṃ cittārthaṃ prāptaṃ, tathāpi tac cittam asaṃkhyeyavāsanāvicitram api parārtham/ kasmāt/ saṃhatyakāritvād iti sūtrārthaḥ/ vyācaṣṭe --- tad etad iti/ syād etac cittaṃ saṃhatyāpi kariṣyati svārthaṃ ca bhaviṣyati kaḥ khalu virodha iti yadi kaścid brūyāt taṃ pratyāha --- saṃhatyakāriṇeti/ sukhacittam iti bhogam upalakṣayati/ tena duḥkhacittam api draṣṭavyam/ jñānam ity apavarga uktaḥ/ etad uktaṃ bhavati --- sukhaduḥkhe citte pratikūlānukūlātmake nātmani saṃbhavataḥ/ svātmani vṛttivirodhāt/ na cānyo+api saṃhatyakārī sākṣāt paramparayā vā sukhaduḥkhe vidadhānas tābhyām anukūlanīyaḥ pratikūlanīyo vā/ tasmād yaḥ sākṣāt paramparayā vā na sukhaduḥkhayor vyāpriyate sa evābhyām anukūlanīyaḥ pratikūlanīyo vā/ sa ca nityodāsīnaḥ puruṣa evam 199 apavṛjyate yena jñānena tasyāpi jñeyatantratvāt svātmani ca vṛttivirodhān na jñānārthatvam/ na bāhyaviṣayād asmād apavargasaṃbhavo videhaprakṛtilayānām apavargāsaṃbhavāt/ tasmāt tajjñānam api puruṣārtham eva na tat svārthaṃ nāpi paramātrārtham/ saṃhataparārthatve cānavasthāprasaṅgād asaṃhataparārthasiddhir iti //4.24//
