svasvāmiśaktyoḥ svarūpopalabdhihetuḥ saṃyogaḥ //2.23//

tad evaṃ tādarthye saṃyogakāraṇa ukte prāsaṅgike pradhānanityatve saṃyogasāmānyanityatve hetau cokte saṃyogasya yat svarūpam asādhāraṇo viśeṣa iti yāvat tadabhidhitsayedaṃ sūtraṃ pravavṛte --- svasvāmiśaktyoḥ svarūpopalabdhihetuḥ saṃyogaḥ/ yato dṛśyaṃ tadartham atas tajjanitam upakāraṃ bhajamānaḥ puruṣas tasya svāmī bhavati/ bhavati ca tad dṛśyam asya svaṃ sa cānayoḥ saṃyogaḥ śaktimātreṇa vyavasthitas tatsvarūpopalabdhihetus tad etad bhāṣyam avadyotayati --- puruṣaḥ svāmī yogyatāmātreṇa dṛśyena svena yogyatayaiva darśanārthaṃ saṃyuktaḥ/ śeṣaṃ sugamam/ syād etat/ draṣṭuḥ svarūpopalabdhir apavṛjyate+anenety apavarga ukto na ca mokṣaḥ sādhanavāṃs tathā saty ayaṃ mokṣatvād eva cyavetety ata āha --- darśanakāryāvasāno buddhiviśeṣeṇa saha puruṣaviśeṣasya saṃyoga iti darśanaṃ viyogakāraṇam 91 uktam/ kathaṃ punar darśanakāryāvasānatvaṃ saṃyogasyety ata āha --- darśanam iti/ tataḥ kim ity ata āha --- adarśanam avidyā saṃyoganimittam ity uktam/ uktam arthaṃ spaṣṭayati --- nātreti/ nanu darśanam adarśanaṃ virodhi nivartayatu bandhasya kuto nivṛttir ity ata āha --- darśanasyeti/ buddhyādiviviktasyātmanaḥ svarūpāvasthānaṃ mokṣa ukto na tasya sādhanaṃ darśanam api tv adarśananivṛtter ity arthaḥ/ asādhāraṇaṃ saṃyogahetum adarśanaviśeṣaṃ grahītum adarśanamātraṃ vikalpayati --- kiṃ cedam iti/ paryudāsaṃ gṛhītvāha --- kiṃ guṇānām adhikāraḥ kāryārambhaṇasāmarthyaṃ tato hi saṃyogaḥ saṃsārahetur upajāyate/ prasajyapratiṣedhaṃ gṛhītvā dvitīyaṃ vikalpam āha --- āhosvid iti/ darśito viṣayaḥ śabdādiḥ sattvapuruṣānyatā ca yena cittena tasya tadviṣayasyānutpādaḥ/ etad eva sphorayati --- svasmin dṛśye śabdādau sattvapuruṣānyatāyāṃ ceti/ tāvad eva pradhānaṃ viceṣṭate na yāvad dvividhaṃ darśanam abhinirvartayati/ niṣpāditobhayadarśanaṃ tu nivartata iti/ paryudāsa eva tṛtīyaṃ vikalpam āha --- kim arthavattā guṇānām/ satkāryavādasiddhau hi bhāvināv api bhogāpavargārthāv avyapadeśyatayā sta ity arthaḥ/ paryudāsa eva caturthaṃ vikalpam āha --- athāvidyā pratisargakāle svacittena saha niruddhā pradhānasāmyam āgatā vāsanārūpeṇa svacittotpattibījam/ tena darśanād anyāvidyāvāsanaivādarśanam uktā/ paryudāsa eva pañcamaṃ vikalpam āha --- kiṃ sthitisaṃskārasya pradhānavartinaḥ sāmyapariṇāmaparamparāvahinaḥ kṣaye gatir mahadādivikārārambhas taddhetuḥ saṃskāraḥ pradhānasya gatisaṃskāras tasyābhivyaktiḥ 92 kāryonmukhatvam/ tadubhayasaṃskārasadbhāve matāntarānumatim āha --- yatredam uktam aikāntikatvaṃ vyāsedhadbhiḥ, pradhīyate janyate vikārajātam aneneti pradhānaṃ tac cet sthityaiva varteta na kadācid gatyā tato vikārākaraṇān na pradhīyate tena kiṃcid ity apradhānaṃ syāt/ atha gatyaiva varteta na kadācid api sthityā tatrāha --- tathā gatyaiveti/ kvacit pāṭhaḥ "sthityai gatyai" iti/ tādarthye caturthī, evakāraś ca draṣṭavyaḥ/ sthityai cen na varteta na kvacid vikāro vinaśyet/ tathā ca bhāvasya sato+avināśino notpattir apīti vikāratvād eva cyaveta/ evaṃ ca na pradhīyate+atra kiṃcid ity apradhānaṃ syāt tad ubhayathā sthityā gatyā cāsya vṛttiḥ pradhānavyavahāraṃ labhate nānyathaikāntābhyupagame/ na kevalaṃ pradhāne kāraṇāntareṣv api parabrahmatanmāyāparamāṇvādiṣu kalpiteṣu samānaś carco vicāraḥ/ tāny api hi sthityaiva vartamānāni vikārākaraṇād akāraṇāni syuḥ, gatyaiva vartamānāni vikāranityatvād akāraṇāni syur iti ca/ paryudāsa eva ṣaṣṭhaṃ vikalpam āha --- darśanaśaktir eveti/ yathā prajāpativrate nekṣetodyantam ādityam ity anīkṣaṇapratyāsannaḥ saṃkalpo gṛhyata evam ihāpi darśananiṣedhe tatpratyāsannā tanmūlā śaktir ucyate/ sā ca darśanaṃ bhogādilakṣaṇaṃ prasotuṃ draṣṭāraṃ dṛśyena yojayatīti/ atraiva śrutim āha --- pradhānasyeti/ syād etat/ ātmakhyāpanārthaṃ pradhānaṃ pravartata iti śrutir āha na tv ātmadarśanaśakteḥ pravartata ity ata āha --- sarvabodhyabodhasamartha iti/ prāk pravṛtteḥ pradhānasya nātmakhyāpanamātraṃ pravṛttau prayojakam asāmarthye tadayogāt tasmāt sāmarthyaṃ pravṛtteḥ prayojakam iti śrutyārthād uktam ity arthaḥ/ darśanaśaktiḥ pradhānāśrayety aṅgīkṛtya ṣaṣṭhaḥ kalpaḥ/ imām evobhayāśrayām āsthāya saptamaṃ vikalpam āha --- ubhayasya puruṣasya ca dṛśyasya cādarśanaṃ darśanaśaktir dharma ity eke/ 93 syād etan mṛṣyāmahe dṛśyasyeti, tasya sarvaśaktyāśrayatvān na draṣṭur iti punar mṛṣyāmaḥ/ na hi tadādhārā jñānaśaktis tatra jñānasyāsamavāyād anyathā pariṇāmāpattir ity ata āha --- tatredam iti/ bhavatu dṛśyātmakaṃ tathāpi tasya jaḍatvena tadgataśaktikāryaṃ darśanam api jaḍam iti na śakyaṃ taddharmatvena vijñātuṃ jaḍasya svayam aprakāśatvād ato dṛśer ātmanaḥ pratyayaṃ caitanyacchāyāpattim apekṣya darśanaṃ taddharmatvena bhavati jñāyate viṣayeṇa viṣayiṇo lakṣaṇāt/ nanv etāvatāpi dṛśyadharmatvam asya jñānasya bhavati na tu puruṣadharmatvam apīty ata āha --- tathā puruṣasyeti/ satyaṃ puruṣasyānātmabhūtam eva tathāpi dṛśyabuddhisattvasya yaḥ pratyayaś caitanyacchāyāpattis tam apekṣya puruṣadharmatveneva na tu puruṣadharmatvena/ etad uktaṃ bhavati --- caitanyabimbodgrāhitayā buddhicaitanyayor abhedād buddhidharmāś caitanyadharmā iva cakāsatīti/ aṣṭamaṃ vikalpam āha --- darśanaṃ jñānam eva śabdādīnām adarśanaṃ na tu sattvapuruṣānyatāyā iti kecit/ yathā cakṣū rūpe pramāṇam api rasādāv apramāṇam ucyate/ etad uktaṃ bhavati --- sukhādyākāraśabdādijñānāni svasiddhyanuguṇatayā draṣṭṛdṛśyasaṃyogam ākṣipantīti/ tad evaṃ vikalpya caturthaṃ vikalpaṃ svīkartum itareṣāṃ vikalpānāṃ sāṃkhyaśāstragatānāṃ sarvapuruṣasādhāraṇyena bhogavaicitryābhāvaprasaṅgena dūṣayati --- ity ete śāstragatā iti //2.23//
